1st PART OF THE JOURNEY:
The tour will start with your guide Shastri at Den Paradera, a natural healing garden on the east part od the island. Shastri will share with you the knowledge he gained since youth from his grandmother and his mother Dinah Veeris, the island’s most famous herbalist; both native healers. Shastri combines this knowledge with the ancient healing science of Ayurveda, that has many common elements with our local healing traditions. While walking in his garden you will experience with all your sense the island’s wisdom of healing through nature and gain better understanding of your personal relationship with food.
2nd PART OF THE JOURNEY:
The journey continues to Angela’s kitchen, just a short 15 minutes’ drive to our next location, to experience healthy cooking with a Caribbean twist.
To Angela, a communication and PR specialist turned foodie, cooking is her passion. It means getting the right ingredients into meals that are as close to nature as possible and as nutritious as possible, then transforming them into taste pallet explosion meals, that are both healthy and delicious. This experience is not a cooking class both a cooking together experience, where she will share with you some amazingly easy to make yet healthy recipes. Angela selects her vegetables from the best local organic farmers to provide truly fresh and local ingredients.
The best part of the cooking experience comes at the end. After a fun time making the dishes, meeting new people, and sharing some laughter, it’s time to eat and toast to happy and healthy living!
This journey is only available on Thursdays. Duration is approximately 4 hours, starting at 4pm.
There are 16 spots available on this experience with a minimum of 6 participants. It can be booked by a group or individually. You don’t have to fill all spots. This experience is meant to be social so other participants could join too.
